Brake Pads, Rotors, & Calipers

Brakes are essential for stopping your vehicle. The brake pads are compressed against a rotor by the brake caliper to stop the vehicle in motion. Brake pads are made up of semi-metallic or ceramic material. This material wears down over time and will need to be replaced. Recommend replacing brake pads at 2mm to prevent the caliper from overextending its piston, causing further damage. When replacing brake pads, it is to your advantage to replace the rotors at the same time. Rotors have a minimum thickness that must be within specifications. If you do not replace the rotors, then there is a great chance that the rotors will reach their minimum thickness half way through the brake pads life. This can cause for vibrations when braking and premature brake pad replacement. Get the most out of your brake pads and rotors by replacing at the same time.

If you are experiencing a squeak or grind, shaking of the steering wheel, or brake pedal sinks to the floor, then a brake service is recommended.
